Lorenzo Cantoni –  Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences and Director of Webatelier.net

Short biography:

Graduated in Philosophy, prof. Cantoni holds a Ph.D. in Education is a full professor since 2007. He is vice-director of the Institute of Communication and Education (ICIeF) and scientific director of the laboratories NewMinE: New Media in Education, webatelier.net and eLab: eLearning Lab.

He is the director of Red-ink doctoral school: Rethinking Education in the Knowledge Society, in co-operation with the EPFL and the University of St. Gallen. His area of research is the intersection between communication, education and new media: from computer-mediated communication to usability, from eLearning to eTourism, from ICT4D to eGovernment. He has been nominated Dean of the Faculty for the academic years 2010-2012.
